(6 customer reviews)

Small Size is for cats under 10 lbs.

Large is for most cats over 10 lbs.

Extra-large is a specialty size for very large cats, typically big-breed males. These cats may start around 20 pounds and range up to 40 pounds or more, with a torso length of at least 19 inches from base-of-neck to base-of-tail. If your cat does not meet the size criteria for XL, you should order large instead.

My cat weighs 18 lbs. I hope XLis not too big

    • Ted Starmack

Hi Nancy! It depends. XL is for cats who are not only heavy, but also long, with big heads and necks. They tend to be large-breed cats, such as Maine coons, though some mixed-breed cats grow to be very large also and need XL. You can measure his torso from the base of his neck to the base of his tail. If it is 19 inches or more, he will need it. If his torso is under 19 inches, then I would recommend a large as being big enough. — Jeanne

With all the different types of cat carriers available, how do you choose the right one for your cat?

    • Ted Starmack

The right carrier for your cat is one that he’ll accept without being stressed, and ideally, you should be able to secure it in the car.

My cat does NOT like the regular pet carriers and therefore have NOT been able to take her out of the house for her shots!
I would like to purchase one of these cat carriers, however, I do NOT have a credit card.
Do you accept the pre-paid visa/discover debit/credit card that can be purchased in stores with the money stored on it?

    • Ted Starmack

Hi Maronita! Yes, you shouldn’t have any problem using your pre-paid card on our site. — Jeanne
